Since 2022, the Pakistan Hub at LUMS has hosted the LUMS-SIDA-AAS Research & Capacity Building Workshops, providing early-career scholars with dedicated mentorship, training, and global exposure. Each year, two intensive workshops bring together emerging researchers, guiding them through the challenges of academic writing, publishing, and career development.

For the sixth cohort (May 2025), the program received an overwhelming response: 466 applications from 11 countries. This diverse pool of applicants reflects the global relevance of the program and the growing demand for collaborative spaces where early-career academics can sharpen their research, strengthen their voices, and engage international scholarly communities.

At AAS-in-Asia Nepal 2025 as well, many prospective applicants interacted directly with members of our previous cohorts, learning firsthand about their experiences. These conversations sparked great interest in the program and will lead to a significant number of new applications, reflecting the growing visibility and reputation of the Pakistan Hub within international academic networks.

Pakistan Cohorts highlight the deep need for sustained academic mentorship across emerging regions. For prospective applicants, it showcases a vibrant, supportive platform where early-career researchers can refine their scholarship, connect with peers worldwide, and access tailored guidance for navigating academic careers.

As the Pakistan Hub, we remain committed to centering scholarship from Pakistan within global conversations while building bridges across borders, disciplines, and communities.

This video offers a glimpse into the growing international community we are building — one that is rooted locally but engaged globally.

At AAS-in-Asia Nepal, our former Cohort Members connected with prospective applicants, shared cohort experiences, and built new networks for the upcoming workshop calls.
